MY LEARNING FALL AND RISE





           On August 12, 2019 I entered this class, American English Literature. I thought this class was going to be simply like the rest, I was completely wrong. When Dr. Preston first told us our options of learning I was taken back I did not believe any teacher would allow that. I was so ready for him to tell us the first book we were all going to read and the first writing assignment he already prepared for us. He gave us an option of older learning or a new version of learning. We decide to learn the more modern way I guess you can call it. One of the new things was writing in a journal every morning, but I honestly like having a journal, because it gives our mind something to think about instead of having thoughts all over the place in random. Having a blog was something so different. Different in so many ways, I've never experienced having to do work my way and my way only. Memorizing poems is so hard for me that I couldn't even post one on time or even now. I found a way to work harder by setting reminders for myself although I still lack in this course or don't show my full potential. Overall this course has helped me become a better writer and thinker for myself.

CUE THEME MUSIC

        I think the central message of the book is, Gatsby trying to re-live a memory or a feeling that's already dead for the other person. "Money won't buy you loyalty nor friends," is a big thing that happens in this book as it shows how Gatsby had may friends, lots of wealth, but at the end he rested alone with only 2 people whom mourned his death.
