PREVIEW OF GATSBY ESSAY
Is Gatsby’s desire for success—however we define it—evidence of the American dream, obsession, a personal sense of honor, or something else? Does Gatsby symbolize our culture and even our own desires, or is he an outlier? I believe Gatsby’s desire for success is evidence of the American Dream, obsession, and a personal sense of honor. Everyone who thinks about the “American Dream” thinks about wealth, health, and empowerment over themselves and their family. For example Gatsby has all the money you could wish for, I know everyone thrives to have what Gatsby has I mean who wouldn’t.
CUE THEME MUSIC
I think the central message of the book is, Gatsby trying to re-live a memory or a feeling that's already dead for the other person. "Money won't buy you loyalty nor friends," is a big thing that happens in this book as it shows how Gatsby had may friends, lots of wealth, but at the end he rested alone with only 2 people whom mourned his death.
